Marek's ACC stage event idea thingie - where is it...?

Oh dear :oops: maybe I'm imagining things but I could've sworn I read a suggestion from Marek about a kind of ACC Stage race next year...? Can't find it anywhere - someone please reassure me and show me the way....?

I like the idea although I think it'd have to just be a one day TT and RR or it'd only be a handful of peeps. Gets my vote, although not sure how you'd come up with overall placings. Maybe it could be kept in one place and condensed a bit (partially for convenience and time to try and keep plenty of people doing it) with a one/two lap TT of the RR circuit as a sort of prologue. Special prologue prize and then the RR to follow as the main event.

Acc already has a TT!

And if we consider the results, Adam 2nd, Adam 1st. That would be another victory then! 8)

Personally I'd like to see a 25 mile TT in the mix :twisted: . However, :mrgreen: s idea around a prologue and RR could work well as a Saturday thang then an off road on the Sunday...?

Are you sure, sir? Didn't George beat you by a reasonable margin in the TT? And that's after a season geared-up towards the 12-hr TT too! On GC, he would have been the winner. Stu was only a tiny handful of seconds behind in the TT too. With you having to police Stu's vicious attacks in the RR and your need to gain 30-odd seconds on George, you'd have been worked over and left chasing the minor places. In fact, I'm sure there would have been tears and tantrums in the peloton pretty quickly!

George / Stu / various ACC other contenders post ACC stage race--> :D :P

19 seconds?

Had there been the need to make up 19 seconds, they would have been made up!

Thats the downfall of the idea though isn't it... Unless you run the road race on a proper course, how can anyone who doesn't have a TT bike, a skin suit, a pointy helmet and a disc wheel etc etc compete?

Calm down, blimey it was only a suggestion as to something that might be a laugh, I don't care who wins, I just thought it would be funny to see how the tactics etc would change in the later race after a TT.

Maybe some other alternative events:

- Tossing the track pump
- Who can eat the most power gels without puking
- Longest track stand
- Tug of war on a bike (not sure how this would work, but reckon we could sort something)

After all this fun, we could then all ride in circles around a Maypole.

I think this was mooted for the President's next year, to run it as an "Athletes 10".
