Redmon 2 Up

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Redmon 2 Up

Postby Snoop Doug » Tue Sep 09, 2008 2:53 pm

I can't find a thread for this.

Anyhoo.....

1 old git (42) seeks younger male or female for some TT related fun and frolics. Must have GSOH. No smokers or pets.

My best and only 10 time this year is 25.43 and my 25 times range from 1.11 to a long 1.04.

Does anyone (who I stand a fighting chance of keeping up with) fancy dragging me round a 15.4 mile sporting course (don't know it meself) at the reasonably civilised time of around 08.30 on October 19th..?

Cheers - Snoop

PS - anyone called George need not apply

It's kind of mixed up in the "TT plans for the rest of the season" thread.

As far as I can tell from that, and from what I hear on the grapevine, so far our teams are:

George & Dominic
Team Green (jnr & snr)
Jon H & PVT
Rich V & Terry

TBA & Snoop
TBA & Rob R-E

[quote="Snoop Doug"] round a 15.4 mile sporting course (don't know it meself)

Nice course.

- Start same place as Addiscombe 10s in Spook Hill and go up to the 10 turn (I know you love that bit Snoop  ).
- At the 10 turn RAB (Capel) take he 2nd left (Rusper Rd) and this takes you up to, funnily enough, Rusper. It's a bit of a drag that goes on for a while with a short kick (that's not that bad) towards the end where it has turned in to Capel Road. This is the hard bit of the route for the old man, sorry I mean vet. My Dad hates this bit with a passion.
- At the end of the road (Rusper) sharp left down Newdigate Rd. This takes you down the CR route in reverse and is a lovely fast downhill/flat section past Partridge and on to Newdigate (changes in to Rusper Rd confusingly after Partridge). You fly down here and can get your revenge for the drag by bellowing at your pacer to go faster all the time - I was going down here at between 30 and 35mph last year and my Dad was still welded to my wheel and having a rest. He likes this bit.
- At Newdigate you take a left (Henfold Lane) - nice fast bit (downhill and flat) which then drags a bit and kicks up, only a touch but your legs will be hurting by now, before you go left up Inholms Lane.
- Inholms lane is a "nice" drag finish, there'll be a 200m board along here where you can nip out from your pacers wheel and sprint for home :D . Vet often a wheezing wreck up this drag and screaming for mercy :D .

Looking at the Pres 10 list - Hal, Stu, Sylv? Good pacers Snoop, you want them a fair bit quicker than you to get you a good time.

Good for pacing you though Snoop, he only goes as fast as you can keep up with (plus a bit more just in case you begged for mercy too soon).

Does it clash with any road races? Any chance of one of the Agreeables road race stars giving you a tow?
