Absolutely fantastic race, that last lap was phenomenal. Cooke looked sooooo knackered I didn't think she could keep responding, that lass is tough as nails.

That was good!

Did Vos think she had it though? Can't believe she didn't have the legs to keep trying for another 10m.

I was thrown by the 'Yorkshire mode' in Grahame's post there! Now, had it read "There's lovely, look you, isn't it?" I'd have worked it out.

Top marks to Emma Pooley for doing some damage to the opposition, but the Dutch had the sprinter and he Germans had two in the bunch - and that made it even more impressive.

So, are there any non-cyclists in the frame for Sports Personality of the Year?

I guess Huw's still got some work for a bit  .

That girl's been putting me through the wringer since she was 14 let me tell you

That was an even better result than Beijing as she had the two other big names in women's racing to get round.

Vos was incredibly naive. In a drag race she (Vos) beats Nicole (and everyone else) quite comfortably every time they end up in a sprint. The Germans had already tried every move in the book and couldn't get away so all Vos had to do was sit in the group and wait for the sprint - why did she try and get away on the climb? It only served to shred her legs.

Anyway when's the last time Wales had a world and Olympic champion in the same year I wonder?

Stu, take note. It's not about being on the front chasing everything that moves. It's about crossing the line first. How Nicole rode was text book stuff.

Ohhhhhh shiiiiiit! That was awesome. It was only that cos I knew the result that I managed to keep the yelling under control.

Yup, I agree Mr Williams, poor tactics from Holland. Still, tactics can be learned, Voss is only 21 so she has a good few seasons left.

But, for Nicole to beat off the two Germans with their nauseatingly repetetive 1 -2 attacks....and then Voss. Brailsford was right, she is just a phenomenon. And she didn't look like she had done anything more energetic than run up the stairs at the interview circus later

Well she certainly didn't sound welsh - unlike some unmentionables in our club

Amazing result and I couldn't keep the shouting under control...even scared our rabbit
