Club Run 27/9

Good fun. Not been around on club runs much of late so nice to spin the legs around with the yellow and black mob (not the Anerley or NP although Keith Butler was at the cafe  ). Put the fixie to good use today but had to get back so had to return the short way, real shame as Box Hill would have been really nice in that freakish weather we started to get - what is that big yellow ball in the sky?

Had the usual blether with folk, but the absolute highlight of the day was seeing (and having a quick chat with) Keith (W) in the cafe with a big smile on his face. Good to have you back Sir.

Some how it was decided that I  was going to be vice captain of the 15 to 16 group. Happy John made an executive decision to stick me up the pointy end for the whole run. I actually loved it, don't tell John just in case he asks me to do it again. It is hard to judge the pace and make sure you keep it to suit all abilities, so tired now

Very agreeable group went out from Coulsdon, rode past what looked like an horrific accident by the roundabout then on to a sociable ride with the best pace ever!

Fantastic effort for our new riders who took it all the way to Box Hill up and over, well done to Dougie on his first ride who broke the hill without the aid of cleats or toe straps. A potential racer in the making there.

John gave me the same verbal coaching up the hill that he gave me up Ditchling Beacon, I can still hear his words of encouragement blasting from behind "Don't let me catch you Mark", so funny and many thanks John.

Rapid run back from Box to Coulsdon as usual, I love that part of the run. So I'm going to sleep for 2 days now.

And the weather was just the best, clear blue skies and virtually no wind to speak of apart from the beans I had yesterday.

All the best Marky Mark :D
