My money would be on Schumacher. I know he's a decent rider, but to win both TT's and be in long breaks on tough mountain stages on consecutive days.. Very fishy indeed...

Depends on your opinion on why you think teams have introduced testing plans. You'd hope for the first but this is professional sport

A) For the good of cycling
B) So their riders don't get caught

Why were they not testing the suspect riders at the time? I thought they were that was how they caught Beltran wasn't it?

What sanctions are available bearing in the mind the race has now finished? Surely if they start handing out sanctions on the basis of retesting then all those who were restested and found positive for the 1999 tour, eg Lance should be sanctioned. Doesn't sound fair to me?

Storing samples, retrospective testing and proper consequences. Interesting...

If done properly this retrospective testing is quite powerful. The drugies can never really relax. They may use a new variant of the drug confident the testers won't recognise it during the race but after a few months the testers will usually catch up with what's on the market and develop a test. Isn't this what happened to Ricco on this years tour.

Does anyone know on what gounds they are chasing these riders...I thought that Sastre and Voigt were quite outspoken critics of drugs users....

Is it just that they have beaten the French Riders !!

Its quite depressing reallly.....Just seeing Cavendish's name in a list under investigation does quite alot of damage to his credability and to that of British Cycling. He is one of the new generation which have been apparently brought into the sport under a cleaner culture. I guess that it is the same for the other young riders and their respective fans (i.e. Schleck brothers)...

On an alternate point, maybe the endgame for the current wave of drugs in cycling, will be Lance getting caught in one of next years races !!

FWIW I said on another forum ,after watching the mountain stages of this years TDF , that there's no way on God's green earth that Cancellara should be pulling the whole field over Haut-category climbs.
needless to say, I got shot down in flames by people who still want to believe in miracles

I for one, wouldn't be at all surprised at all if he was less than scrupulous with his pre-race vitamin shots.
