Close encounter

Postby mrP(Boonen)VT » Tue Sep 30, 2008 8:46 am

Riding to work this morning (through Wallington), I was overtaking a parked car, when a car then overtook me and the A-pillar and rear window rubbed along my knuckles (hand on the hoods) - I couldn't move over because of the car on the inside.

I caught up with said car about 2 miles further on at traffic lights and the WOMAN driving it would not look at me - even though I was very calmly and politely trying to point out the error of her ways - as if I was invisible - the straight ahead stare and it will go away sort.

I rode off ahead of her and later she overtook again giving a wide berth - so perhaps she did notice after all.

Be careful out there

I bet your saddle was well gripped  . Had a lorry overtake me last night and cut back in a tad close, had one of those stickers on the back warning cyclists about passing on the inside.

same thing happened to me on a very busy main road with lots of cars whizzing past doing 30mph+ in the rush hour.
Very scary after the fact , so to speak.
When I caught up with driver at traffic lights, the women had a phone clamped to her ear.
