My vague plans are to:

do more club runs over winter
do more club training rides.
do another sportive or two.
Do more track at HH in summer.
Do more races on the open road.
Aim for a top 3 placing in 3/4 race at CP.
Score 10 BC points to justify keeping 3rd cat status (dependent on number and type of races entered)

other ideas:

Learn to do a track stand
Do a night time MTB session
try a time trial
Organise a family cycle and hostel trip
Get daughter and wife to try track cycling at HH

as of 07.10.08 @ 16h54 GMT:

° train patiently with a view to get 2-3 minutes faster per 1-hour race (mtb or cross), ie finishing 2-3 minutes behind national level riders instead of 5.
° get back 2nd Cat licence halfway through the season
° focus on a few selected mtb races
° race the 90km cross-country ski Vasaloppet for the 5th time and under 7h
° do some higher end short distance running, possibly duathlon
° get back into doing some mtb rides for the club
° try and do Land's End to John O'Groats
° plan an epic ride (Great Divide, etc)
° do a 260 miles 12h at the Nationals
° race the track at Herne Hill and Newport/Calshot
° do some quality cycling photography

1. Lose the stone I put on when I was out of action for a month with my broken hand.
2. Get out on my bike more, once a week just isn't going to see any improvements now.
3. Enter more races, try to get up to cat 3 and then cat 2 towards the end of the season.
4. Ride up to visit my parents, a total of 200 miles in one day.
5. Get myself onto the track and have a bash at HH.
6. Try get the misses out on a bike.
7. Sell the bike I got for the misses when she gives up and won't use it.

Nice goals Stu. :D :D I hope the training one isn't gonna be something you'll do everyday throughout the winter   :D

Can I also so add Number 1 from the 10 commandments of training
1. Keep stress (training and otherwise) and recovery in approximate balance. Fitness gains are maximized when you are adequately (if not completely) rested for each workout; the more effectively you manage recovery, the more productive your workouts will be, and the more progress you will make. Diet, rest, stress levels, massage, and even the time of day you work out (e.g., try to avoid the heat of the day) all have a direct impact on the extent and quality of recuperation. A good rule of thumb is that you should feel fresh several times a week, just before a long or intense ride/race. Avoid going too hard/long on easy days, and then not hard enough on intense days.

Kieran you're my mate and everything :D but those goals for the most part, apart from the CP one, are rubbish. Can you do most of them again please making sure they're are quantifyable and measurable

Move from 18s to 19s in the CR
Dragon Ride in under 6:45 (Less faffing at feed stops and more effective drafting)
Several other 100 mile plus sportives
Improve descending (Tourmalet at barely touching 40mph was pathetic given I get 45 down Titsey)
Try a road race

Persuade Marco and Grahame to wear a Livestrong wristband
(OK so that last one may have to be rolled into 2010, 2011.... )
