I have been thinking about the reasons why LA wants to make a come back to racing, choices:

a) Increase the profile of his Cancer charity (ok give him that)
b) Prove that he can still be a great cyclist (mmmm risky strategy)
c) Win the Giro in its centenary year (like he did on the TDF)
d) His popularity/ego needs a boost (probably)
e) He is running out of money (he was earning at least $20million a year at his peak so probably unlikely)

or.............

a) he is boosting his popularity/visibility
b) he is getting even more cash together
c) all of the above and he is practising his smile for a certain contest that will be happening in 3 1/2 years time.....
