great Forum and very active club

Congratulation, I am very impressed with your club forum and the activity. As well I am impressed with the wide range of topics and the nice mixture between fun , health and serious discussion.
I will enjoy reading on here during the upcoming cold canadian winter nights and may even be able to improve my terrible "swenglish" by reading real english.
Once in a while I may like to join in , in one or the other discussion with questions and sometimes , unlikely often, to add some ideas or fire to the discussion.
I got introduced to this site by Rob an interesting person I had some contacts a while ago over the phone.
Rob is one of the many people we have contact and an ongoing discussion about training and training ideas and Rob is one of the many readers , who believe , that we understand a lot on what we talk about.
Reality is , that as longer we talk about training as less we know about it and as more question we have.
So I am unfortunately joining this Forum many many years to late, as I knew everything 30 years back , and as older I am getting as less I understand.
It is about the same as the problem to find out that you are getting old.
By the way , do you know the test to find out , whether you are getting old ???
well here how it goes.
Your wife tells you :
Dear let's run upstairs and have some sex.
And you have to answer. Honey I can only do one or the other but not both . Have a great day and I hope to read some interesting stuff coming on your Forum

Now you're talking Juerg 8)

Welcome to what is sometimes a normal world of the on-line Addiscombe club room. There is nothing that can't be sorted out on this forum. The life, universe and everything.

Maybe you can free up some of Robh's time, it think he gets asked a lot which he in turn then passes on to you then relays it back to us again.

Robh is due to test me on Thursday night for the Lactate Balance Point gizmo thingy merjig  .
His (FaCT) test has come very highly recommended from others in the club who have already had it done, I don't confess to know exactly what it is all about but I do have a rough idea. I'm far from being an athlete and like other club members, just a very keen cyclist.

I don't expect the test to be a magic wand, but I will be taking on board what Robh has to say and putting it into practice and looking at it over the long term. It will be interesting what the results will be if I ever manage to get retested in the future.

Good luck and don't forget to turn the Sarcasm filter on in your computer  .

All the best, Marky Mark

Hallo Mark , Thanks for the welcome,
Here a question to you as teh next person , who will get tested with Rob.
Did you already payed for teh test in advance ?
If yes , bad sign , who will get your bike ?
If no great sign , as Rob seems to be confident enough , that you may survive it.
We test all different type of people . From world class athletes down to post cardiac surgeries and heart attack people. The program really we will give after the test is in essence the same.
Both extreme groups really push their limits in their own world.
There is only one small difference.
With athletes you never charge in advance and you never see them paying after that .
With patients you try to watch that they pay a head as you may see them either anymore after the test. :D
So good luck to you and I am very positive surprised again over the content of this forum. Great job , great balance between life and fun reality and fantasy . Will enjoy for sure many more cold hours on here and see, whether I have to sent Rob some heart medications , as he so nicely try to "defend" some crazy ideas . I am not sure whether I shall help him , as he has to grow into that on his own. Nevertheless he is married and needs some place to vent off. Ha ha Cheers and enjoy the evening Juerg
Sorry but get used to typos and "swenglish "

Funny, I am going to admit something sad now. Was watching Peter and Jordan the other night, she had gone to the US to have a number of operations on her teeth and boobs. She was still well under the effects of the anesthetic and the doctors were already asking her to swipe her card for payment. Classic that her first card did not work and they had to take another one, she didn't even know what she'd had done when Peter asked her after she had paid.

So Rob, morale of the story is ask for double, you never know they may be in such a bad way that they pay it and won't realise what you have done.

Cheers

Marek...

Hi Juerg and welcome

I myself cannot keep up at the moment with all the posts on the training forum, and I guess it's only going to get worse now!

I guess it must be skiing time in Canada, I saw that you were into cross-country - have a look here :) viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1500&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=vasaloppet

Hey Silvaine sounds like this will be lots of fun there. It will slow down here on the training forum , once the first snowflakes will fly , as it will not keep us anymore in fron t of the computer. Have fun Juerg
