Ah dear, sometimes I have to laugh.
10.40 this moring and I'm making my merry way to uni on my shiny yellow fixie, when... bang!
The poor girl just didn't see me, pulls out, so over I go. Classic scenario, same as my earlier incident in Feb, and the same as what happened to Chloe. Hmm. What can we do?
I grabbed my bike headed for the pavement and sat down shaking my head. I simply could not believe I had been taken out for the second time in just nine months. Although to be fair it was clear the girl was in much more shock than I was, and her young son was not too impressed either.
Unfortunately I just caught my head as I landed, resulting in a reasonable blood flow down onto the side of my face. As a result one of the many bystanders called an ambulance for me, while what can only be described as an angelic lady sat down beside me and put her arm around me. The driver herself was in tears at this point, and I just said to her not to worry, afterall I'm getting used to it! And there was hardly any damage to her car at all anyway, but I do empathise with her.
After a while the ambulance came and off I went, and the afore mentioned angel took my bike for me as she liver just around the corner. A&E cleaned me up, gave me the spiel about head injuries and I was off on my way. Thankfully Met Police actually care about these things (Unlike Surrey Police as I found out in Feb), and they came to see me in Hospital having already caught up with a few witnesses and the driver. So all should be covered with regards replacing the now f****d front wheel etc.. Luckily apart from my head, and a degree of pain in my neck, there is hardly a scratch on the rest of me which is lucky. So I should be fine in a few days.
So there you go, ride safe!
