Ride next Sunday 26/10?

Postby Amy » Sun Oct 19, 2008 7:34 pm

I may have to give the club run a miss next Saturday as I have to do the honourable thing and entertain my mother with a shopping trip to Sutton

Anybody doing anything/want to do something on the Sunday?

Knowing the Pearsons, no. I was thinking of a friendlier bunch, more my speed, not a no prisoners taken approach

I can't make Saturday's ride either - not because I'm taking my mum shopping at Pearsons, though I'm sure she'd love it. So, I expect to be up for a Sunday ride of some description (unless of course that description includes the word 'training').

D'oh, I didn't make the connection - I was thinking of Pearsons' chaingang that tries to kill everyone in the group.

Shopping at Pearsons - now that's a thought. Mum wants to know what to get me for my birthday...

Mike, I know you won't kill me - how about we set up a provisional meet at CSS for 9.30am? I've got some ideas on where to go (and if you're like some people who haven't a clue where they are outside the club run, it means you'll have to wait for me :D ). I say provisional, it all depends on how quick I can shift this cold... :(

So... anyone fancy joining me on a ride down to Balcombe and back on Sunday?

Mum's not coming over now but I need to go to Sutton and maybe Croydon/Bike +.

I was thinking of riding down to Balcombe but I need to be back mid afternoon so -

I thought I'd do my alternative club run route and aim for something to eat at Tanhouse Farm. If anyone wants to join me I'll be at CSS for 9.30ish - and please don't let it rain!

Hi
I think we're not gonna get over in time. We're running quite late so may just head over to Westerham for an shorter ride.

The weather looks really crap.

Yep, I'd say you were running late  though at least you weren't an hour early like my one companion on the ride, Andy!

Anyhoo, I did about 44 miles with Andy, who, being a gent, kept down to my pace. There were no stops - I've not been that wet for a long time  so it was straight home. But at least I got out this week and went a lot further and better than I did last Sunday :|

I stuck my nose out of the door at 9am and decided to give it a miss. But when I looked out again at about 11am it was fine, so I decided to go out on my own. By 11.20 it was of course chucking it down and I'd punctured  . I got home at about 2pm, just as the skies were clearing again  .

Moral of the tale - if you're going to wimp out of a ride, wimp out properly.

I can report that the overshoes and mudguards are working well though.

Well done for getting out today, it was horrible, saw a few people out on bikes when I ventured over to Keith's house, in the car, and thought that it did not look like too much fun today. At least it was warmer than yesterday.

Cheers
