Slippery Titsey

Hrmph. So this morning I had to walk up Titsey Hill. :?

Normally I'd be riding in on my Joey with Scwable Stevlio tyres.... but having been stolen. Rode in on the road bike.

Currently has Pro Race 2's on it.

I stood up and pedalled. The back wheel just span and slid sideways. Ho hum. Have to sit down and grind up I thought. So sat back down. Pedalled.... and again back wheel just span around and I slid sideways off the road. :(
Tried sitting back and putting all my weight over the back wheel to no useful effect. So just gave up and walked.

What tyres do people ride on in these conditions? What other tyres would you recommend compared to the michelins?

Ta
Ivor.

4 Seasons or something with a little bit of tread might fair better than a pure slick, even a soft compound one. What pressure were you riding on as it could have been a bit high for a slick road and a slick tyre.

Other option is carry on to Westerham and up Botley Hill instead :D .

i was doing handicap race with pro race tyres on, and it started to rain. i got out the saddle at one point on a straight bit of road, and my shorts got caught on the nose and suddenly my back wheel started sliding out from under me, i kept it up, but i nearly shat myself!

contis all the way!!
