Todays ride Feedback 29/1/2005

Or more nearer to the truth you lot must have had a bad day or was you all feeling sorry for me??????
I felt this has been my best ride todate with Addiscombe CC. I feel on top of the world (MA!) The main reason for my performance I can Only put it down to not riding all week except the 26 miles to the club room on wednesday. So normal service will resume next week as I intend to do at least 3 x 100km to kick start my Febuary Century a month challange.

There was some confusion over the ROUTE (IAN munnery or just my STML Short Term Memory Loss)but we all got to the Cafe one way or another. Ian's group seemed to think theres was more scenic and harder due to the fact that they road up Boxhill via the ZIG ZAG and our group came over the other way, but we all still climbed the same amount in any case. But I can't see how it was more scenic as my Arse was in the other group .

I just have to say that if you came down the zig-zags and we went up them it must have been a little more difficult- top marks tho for your solo break up the hill by the church fierce pace indeed , you left everyone in your wake ( only coz you rode down the hill!) , good ride today -especially our group who rode the hard way.

And another thing....... how come pathfinder squadron were in the cafe a full hour before we got there??!

I can really see how your STML is affecting you in every branch, spelling,car parking,directions , tho I must admit you were seriously strong today- a lot of the guys did mention it- if you had followed the correct directions of the ride you would have seen your fellow compadre- Paul of the silver giant-storm past everyone up box hill- it was really good to see. Its great watching you young blokes improve and leave us oldies behind

Nick all these messages about how well you are going, I was looking for you in the cafe today to see who you were, but as you all went a different route we did not see you. David Findlay, Dave Pook, Max, Toks and myself left CSS at 8.00am and got to the cafe for about 11.00am after a hell for leather 80km over a nice hilly route.

We picked up Simon in the cafe and had an easy ride back to CSS. If you fancy getting in some early morning miles with us next weekend then we will be at CSS for 8am.

"The Pathfinder Sqadron" TPS
were only there 10-15 minutes before the
"Losy Cycle Crew"LCC
due to the fact that we rode harder and quicker with a more fluent riding technic and a load of other stuff I can't say let alone spell .

I now also feel that I must apologise on behalf of the TPS for upsetting the LCC by getting to the Cafe 1st, next time should there ever be one prehaps we can let the LCC get there 1st just to even the score and we will ride up the ZIG ZAG

Seems like Saturdays ride has created something of a rift in the club. the two sides glaring at each other from opposite sides of the cafe. On the left hand side (on their 8th cup of tea as they'd been there for ages due to shorter, easier route) the newly formed "We only go down the hills cc" and on the right .........
Thanks for the mention Ian I was feeling paticularly sprightly this Saturday

Friendly banter I concur, But I seem to be in a very small minority here trying to save face and all. I shall now endevour to stick to the Ride leader and shall not WANT to take the lead again in case I take the so called easier route.
But as I pointed out in an earlier reply we all statred at the same level IE Coulsdon South and WE all went over Boxhill therefore same altitude covered. Or is that to difficult for the LCC to understand .Now let me have my GLORY in getting up Boxhill first (All be it the EASIER way ) you SADISTIC HILL CLIMBING LOONIES............

Totally agree, it was one of the best Addiscombe rides I've been on, we should experiment with new routes as a regular thing.
We also seem to have found the prospective new "king of the mountains" in silver giant Paul.
I look forward to next weeks offerings

You can always try the ZIG ZAG, which is MUCH harder or you could Attack it from the other side which has just as much Altitude to ride UP but over more EASIER gradients..
