Adrian, I'm glad you managed to come away from that with a near miss.

It's a bit unrelated but... I work on a lot of BNF (British Nuclear Fuel) sites and the are so hot (excuse the punn) on "near misses".

They learn from them and as a result you would not believe the tiny number of accidents they do actually have.

I don't think in your case it would actually change anything, but maybe a quiet word in his ear from his boss would let him know that his driving is being monitored.

Your call sir. But it does sound it was VERY close, I dread to think what the outcome would of been.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

[quote="adrian"]While we're on the subject - how are you getting on with your complaint, Ant?

Sounds like your 'fun' with a bus was nearly as good as mine. Glad your ok, really does shake you up though.

Well I got no where, the bus depo haven't got back to me yet, the police just aren't interested so I give up. Guess I'll just have to be killed for either of them to sit up and take notice. Next time I'll take matters into my own hands and just tw*t the f'ker who tries to kill me.

Is that then classed as 'self defence'?

I've lost count of the amount of time I've been hooted by a bus on the Walworth Road for cycling in the bus lane  .

Cheers, Ant. No wonder these people fling their buses around with such disregard for people's safety - they know they'll get away with it. And if they do hit someone, it's 'you know what these cyclists are like' back at the garage and no more is said.

I think you're right - direct action is the only way to go. I may write to TfL - the LCC have given me their address and number - but feel more satisfied by having ridden slowly in front of him all the way down Long Lane and giving him regular 'w@nker' signs as I went. Childish and futile, I know, but there wasn't much else open to me at the time. :x

Take a golf ball with you.

Apparently when they hit the window they just bounce off and nobody knows what happened. Leaving a nice frosty pane of glass...

Apparently.

Great idea, Adam. I'll dig out an old Pinnacle or Top-Flite - too hard ever to play with, but ideally suited to this.

No, I really will.

Don't forget that you have to be able to hide YOUR third ball

If it's raining, snap off the wipers and ride away.

Or open the rear passenger door and (again) ride away.
