very good

I want to reach 100 on the flat (not like him)

mrpvt - do you have a 59t or more ring in your garage?
robh - do you think I can keep 150rpm for one minute?

a flat straight section of M25 at 5am on a weekend morning
George's van with the boot open

come on let's do it!

Yes, yes I wanna be there.

Apparently Shanaze Read can do 200rpm on the rollers for a whole minute in perfect control.

You got to practice, but I reckon you can do it, Sylv.

M23 would be a safer bet I reckon... the M25 is never that quiet...

Michelle you can sit at the back of the van and shout "faster" or "slower" to George :D And then try take a lactate sample

I actually started my high cadence exercises yesterday! Only went to 120 tho

I think you could Slyv.

I think I start to bounce on the saddle round the 160rpm mark.

"Hoy, the reigning keirin and kilometre time trial world champion, downed compatriot Ross Edgar and world sprint champion Theo Boss of the Netherlands to take gold."

Theo who?

Sylv,

I'm sure you could do 150rpm for 1 min, for a while I was doing high rpm training but decided to put off till later in the year. Anyway in a relatively short time I got above 200rpm for a second a few times and then 150rpm seems ok. Given your small gears on your single speed MTB you should be able to do it.

I've got a 62 ring on the tandem  but George's van doesn't go that fast

With an 11 sprocket, 100kph is only 138RPM

Tony Doyle once did a "medium gear" 25 i.e.limit of 72" (48*18) in 56 minutes, averaging around 120RPM.

On the rollers, each pedal rev covers 8.38m so to cover 500m (from a standing start) requires 59.6 revs, and a "good" time of 20 seconds = an average of 178.8rpm

IAgree on rpm Paul :)
Wonder if the 62t ring would clear the chainstay without fiddling chainline?
Agree M road is not best idea, prob best to keep it "legal"
But I don't know a fast safe stretch of A road nearby

I've posted this before (but it's always good to see) here's Dave "legs" Le Grys British and Commonwealth speed record of 110mph

No drafting, just a rocket up your bum and 150mph

Looking forward to this...
