I see no ships

Postby Marky Mark » Tue Nov 11, 2008 5:45 pm

I happened to be in Tesco (Purley) on Saturday and this fantastic offer caught my eye.

For us visually messed up people, take your perscription in and they will do the rest.
(I also have a sneaky feeling they are doing free eye tests)

They are not the best glasses in the world but the price is.

ALL IN FOR £40.00 (frame, single vision lens and the sunglass bit)

No in a word. Can't find them online either. Better send the kids in to hunt them down!

[quote="marco"]While you are in there have a look for some sort of torch thing they are doing for a tenner - its got the same LEDs as bike lights costing around £100 . Tape them to your bars or helmet and bobs your uncle - heavy duty lighting system for next to no money. especially if you put rechargable batteries in.

discussion on them here

I know an mtb forum was talking about these lights.
I went to check them out a few weeks ago and they're not that impressive.
It's got a Cree LED but I don't know what generation Cree it is or what bin number.
The bottom line is that you'd need 3 or 4 of these lights to make them adequate for trail riding or road riding on unlit roads.

By far the best bet is is one of these for £40: FENIX LD20 PREMIUM LED TORCH

Absurdly bright and exceptionally well made.
At night, it's like a car headlight on unlit roads, and all from 2 AA batteries.
