25 metres takes so long to do! Route?

My first commute to work, distance.....

Bedroom to downstairs office = 25 metres. :!:

 Route :-

Straight out of bedroom, go down straight down the stairs. Avoid Right turn into office.

Carry straight on grabbing bike!
Knock on John the old'ns door and ask him if he's coming out to play.
John wanted to stay dry, I don't blame him.

Head off on own via Chipstead to Kingswood and hang a left.
Past the Heritage the Hang a right the Box Hill Cafe as I forgot drinks bottle AGAIN, Damn the top cafe is closed because I was there too early.

Give it some speed down the Zig Zag road in search of food.
Bottom cafe open for Bacon Buttie and Strong black coffee.
Recommend hand dryer in gents toilet to dry gloves.

Break over, continue trying to get to the office!

Set off on reverse route to CR, sort of...
Got to Newdigate and done a left through Parkgate

Got a bit lost as I wanted to try some new roads.

Into Bethworth then Buckland, here is where I lose the plot. I remember going straight over at the junction, looking good only having to wait at the level crossing for a few minutes. Carry on past that to a farmers gate when it all comes flooding back to me.... Oops this leads to Pebblecombe, time for a u-turn then back to the Reigate Road then turn left for Reigate.

Through Reigate, Merstham..... You know the rest.

Get home soaked to the bone, hose the mud of the bike, jump in the shower, get dressed and go downstairs and turn right into the office and write this.

Surly there must be a quicker way to get to work.

Actual distance covered = 44 miles :D
Time = too many hours to mention

Wow Mark, thats a pretty good ride in the cr*p conditions this morning. Well done.
Mind you, I didn't stay dry either. I thought the alternative turbo session the coach gave me would be relatively easy. Big mistake.
Soaked with sweat and just heading into the shower. !!!!!

Well done both of you, now what time do you slackers start work to fit a 40 mile bike ride in first, or are you up at a ridiculous hour - straight from closing time for you Dan :D .
