Oh, and they told England's only rider potentially capable of winning the Tour to ride the track or bugger off. He didn't want to, consequently he's now Irish. So good old Ireland get to win the Tour... again.

Medal winners were given Club class or First Class seats back from the olympics, other athletes were seated in Premium Economy.
Fact:
Cavendish borrowed a medal to pass himself off as a medal winner and get an upgrade he hadn't "earned" according to the rules.
Fact/conclusion:
He attempted to cheat the system and he got caught.

I read this article in Sundays Observer sport and thought what has Cavendish got to be pissed off about, IMO his performance in the Giro and Tour was easily the best cycling acheivemnt of the year or as OS realised individual sporting acheivemant of the year. I can't wait to see what he does next year. I thought he was crazy to leave the tour for the olympics. I don't know about being about the forgotten man I still remember watching one of his stage wins in a French bar the cheek and audaucity of the way he won it made me proud to be British. If he doesn't get caught up in all the post olympics cycling hype maybe it is for the best. As far as the BA and the medal business he seems to have a bit of attitude which maybe the great sprinters need. For the Giro and Tdf stage wins he should have been up with the pilots, if my other half had a chance to get his autograph and knocked him back instead I would be ashamed to be a cycling fan.
