[quote="Dombo"]I always "adjust" for stoppage time at lights etc and take the average speed from the computer. That way a 21 mile ride over 90 minutes can be morphed into an 18.5 mph average through central London with which to impress my colleagues
AVERAGE
Does everybody adjust for stops
I'm in 2 minds about this
. I first set my Garmin up to 'auto pause' when you stop, for turning and lights etc.
But this seems to 'boost' the average, and give a false impression of what I actually done.
This means I could do fast sprints (if I wanted to) with long stops in between and then look at the figures at the end of the run and it would only average the sprints.
I have now turned the auto pause off so I get a true average of the rides I do
.
Is this why the figures are out when we get to Charlwood to see what the average was, what method do the VC's use to pace the CR?
