Local Kinesis dealer

Postby George » Mon Dec 01, 2008 9:11 pm

Bent my dropout this Sunday at cyclocross at Dears leap Park, need to replace.

Does anyone know a local bike shop that sells Kinesis frames.

Anyone got a 105 rear derallier for sale as mine has exploded!!

Cheers George with a broken Kinesis EVO2

I thought about it afterwards, that it might not be that easy to get your bike sorted for next weekend

I am not sure Kinesis are actually sold other than mail order?

Try BETD but best double check it is the right one http://www.betd.co.uk/items.asp?Categor ... %2FDropout

George,

I am not sure it has to be a Kinesis dealer, I think you can buy the replaceable hangers at most bike shops. I am sure Butlers would be able to help. I have a 105 rear mech but it is a long cage one that was used with a triple. You are more than welcome to it if you want it.

I knackered a replaceable hanger once, and Butlers sorted me out with a new one even though they didn't stock the brand of frame I had, so you might be in luck. I just took it in, they had a rummage about in the workshop and came up trumps.

Sorry to hear about the mechanical hiccup George. When I snapped my hanger a couple of weeks ago I took it to Action Bikes at New Scotland Yard - mainly because it's local to where I work. Jacob works there and was very helpful. He said that they have about 30 different types of gear hanger, and didn't have any problem finding one for my cross bike. It might be worth trying them if you don't have any joy at Butlers. Pearsons helped me out with one quite quickly as well when it snapped a couple of seasons ago as well.

By the way, some people tend to buy a few to keep on stand-by as gear hanger problems are not oncommon in cross races. I've snapped mine twice in the last 3 years, but given how particularly muddy this season has been I wouldn't be surprised if it snapped twice before the season's out !
