OK we have confirmation that the dates are 1st to 8th april

But the hotel Pionero you can book whatever nights you like - so you can turn up for just a long weekend rather than the full week if you prefer.

Suggest given the current financial climate you book with a credit (rather than debit) card to insure against disappearing travel agents

Spent some airmiles and got a BA flight for £63 :D

Shopping around for a good deal on the hotel; cheapest I've found so far is at www.lowcostbeds.com (no, I've never heard of them either).

I'm down for the full trip. Mrs E shan't be coming, not warm enough in April apparently. So how does the booking work? I assume we need to sort out who's sharing first so we don't all book a room each?

Looking at the flights, easyjet seem a decent bet.. I know it's a bit early on the way out, but then we can get a ride in the day we arrive too :D

Wed 1st April
Depart Gatwick - 05:50
Arrive Palma - 09:05

Wed 8th April
Depart Palma - 09:45
Arrive Gatwick - 11:10

Two years ago we were swimming in the outdoor pool in April - and it's gotta be Bl**dy warm to get me into an outdoor pool :D

Does somebody want to share a room with me, think it will work out cheaper. I don't snore.

PM me and then we can sort out booking etc. Are we all going for Hotel Pionero?

Cheers

Majorca is ace, been there about 5 times now for cycling.
Easy to get a cab from the airport to Santa Ponca and back as well.
April should be well warm, i have always gone in Feb to watch the pro race- at the palma crit- usually the first few days in Feb, 20/22 deg.
It will be shorts and a gilet for the descents.
Not made my mind up yet if to go.

So, on lowcost beds it looks as though it is about £320 including shuttle transfer with bed and breakfast, that was a single occupancy rate flying Gatwick to Palma.

Does that sound about right?

Cheers

Thanks for the link Jon.

The Little Green Man is all booked up :D .

Marek - Sounds about right. I booked Easyjet flights separately to the hotel booking. Same flight times as Andy but out on the Thursday and back on the Tuesday - GBP 117 including one bag and a bike. Single room in the hotel for the 5 nights was GBP 145. So GBP 262 total, I'll just get cabs at the time.

Andy, I have booked on the same flights as you. My pm's seem to be stuck for some reason. Do you want me to book the room and do you want me to sort out the transfers. We can then sort out the dosh at a later date. If you pm me your phone number then we can have a chat.

Cheers

You stay away - the buffet has only just recovered from the last time you went a couple of years back :D

Michelle and I have booked. :D :D

Flights:
Outbound: 1st April British Airways from Gatwick 17:35-20:50
Return: 7th April British Airways 21:35-22:55

Hotel:
Booked 6 nights at the hotel via lowcostbeds.com (not used them before), on a B&B basis.

Transfer:
Also booked "shared transfers" for £37 all in. Apparently taxis are about £35 each way.

So that's 6 full days cycling for 7 days off work. Can't wait. :D
