Shameless plug

Was wondering if anybody would be willing to give this a try next year:

http://www.usehypnosis.co.uk/

I am of course biased but as can be seen from my performances in the Results section my times have been on a downward trend and have been consistent. I can only speak from a TT point of view but I have lost count of the amount of times I hear after races that 'I couldn't concentrate, my mind was wandering'. Even the great Guru P told me once it took him about 15 years to get his head around TTing.

I do not want you to think that this is a get quick instantly thing. I did train hard last year, especially at the beginning of the year with the chaingang and kept the training consistent throughout the year, paid attention to my nutrition and made sure I was always well rested for open events. The hypnosis was really the icing on the cake. I did not use if every race though for various reasons.

The first two times I used it I PB'd. The second of those being the Presidents 10 when I did a 21.59. George commented that I looked like a man on a mission. I was and that was all down to being able to concentrate solely on the job at hand.

If there is enough interest I will try and get my wife to give a talk at a club night in the New Year.

For all those non-competitive types she also deals with other issues. She has had success with weight loss, interview confidence, and performance anxiety when standing up in front of groups of people.

Stopping smoking is possible too but since we are such a fit bunch of people then we won't need that wil we

I'd be interested. Most of the mind wandering comments have probably been mine  . I went to a hypnotherapist to stop smoking and quit from 20+ rollies a day.

count me in dude, my mind wanders all over the place on TTs. Trouble is, I kinda like it  Be v intereste to see if this could help me get over my shoulder worries, at least put them in perspective, minimise etc etc. How much is in the mind (yeah alright, not much in a mind as tiny as mine).??

I'm always keen to learn, tho as Mrs Snoop points out, p'raps a little training on my part wouldn't hurt either

If sufficient interest then need to plan ahead for a club night. Pilates is due to restart on 7th Jan for 8 weeks. That would make March 5th the first free night. Perhaps a natter down the alt club room - 1/2 n 1/2 instead?

Cheers - Snoop

Dom,
I'd be very interested to come along to a talk.

I did tll you it took me about 15 years from when I started, and then my times started tumbling - concentrating solely on the task in hand and not watching the tractors in the fields made a huge amount of difference.

It is still a factor today

Sounds like we have the ideal number for a chat in the pub then :D I have spoken to SWMBO and we thought about the middle of January. Give everybody a chance to get over Christmas etc. People will also have an better idea of goals for the season, current fitness etc. Should be good.
