Agreeable Thank You

Postby Tamar » Thu Dec 18, 2008 5:59 pm

BIG thanks to George who very agreeably drove me all the way to Ipswich today and then hung around whilst I had two laser and magnet sessions on my ankle. http://www.physioclinic.net/index.html

Dr Laser reckons the docs were being a bit over-cautious in telling me to be non-weight bearing and says I can do light turbo work - yay! George is also lending me his turbo as I don't normally have much tolerance for such things and do not own one...funny how your perceptions can change...I'm actually looking forwards to it!

Many many thanks George. That was over and above even our usual agreeable standards.

Good to hear Tamar.

George must be on good commission from Dr Laser to drive you to Ipswich

Despite George & Dr Laser's best efforts my recovery has been set back a little by a filthy cold that's had me in bed since Friday. :-( Been feeling way too weak and feeble to contemplate turbo. Have tried putting a bit of weight through the ankle tho on brief excursion from bed to bathroom and it didn't feel tooo bad....but foot v tender where that got wrenched around just before the ankle bones gave up. I am sick of feeling ill. My immune system must be useless. All I did was break bl**dy ankle and I've been feeling exhausted ever since, then had strange rash, then vile cold. I NEVER usually get ill! This is ridiculous.

It's your brain. It's because you believe you are not well, that you brain lets all the little bugs floating around and doing you no harm when you know you are well, to start attacking you.

This is why Chinese doctors say keep happy.

All you have to do is sit back and enjoy your cold - as much as you can - and then when it starts getting better calmly and quietly tell yourself that you are well. Do it everytime you think about it. And you will get well and you won't succumb to anything else. The other thing is, if you think positively you can make your ankle better quicker as well. Eat lots of bone healing food, too, that will help.

Good luck!

Chinese medical proverbs:

"The superior doctor prevents sickness; The mediocre doctor attends to impending sickness; The inferior doctor treats actual sickness."

"Before thirty, men seek disease; after thirty, diseases seek men."

"He that takes medicine and neglects to diet himself wastes the skill of the physician."

"Nine out of every ten men have piles."

(Hope that last one's not relevant).
