Thanks for the info - couple of questions pls...

How much is the fee?

If/when I attempt one of these and fail, can I carry forward to the next event or is the fee payable at each and every attempt?

Cheers - Mr Bronze (nice tan Sir)

So I qualify for a 10 mile Bronze medal at 71 years of age but don't get it because I haven't paid you any money.
Don't rate that system.

Since I've been TT secretary nobody has ever expressed an interest in these awards - although it is in the club rules/handbook that surely everybody reads?

Anyway, keeping track of who's registered and paid in advance for what distance seems like the admin task from hell, so it would be much easier just to say all 1st claim members are eligible, sod the fee, and work it all out at the end of the season.

Jon does this mean you'll check everyone's times for all races  , sounds a bit of a task. Would you prefer that people send you in the details if they want to claim a medal?

Easy. I have to trawl through all the results at the end of the season to work out all the club trophies, so it's just a bit more of the same.

So, Sam is not technically a junior - presumably then a youth. Are there any medals on offer for ACC youth members? If not should there be?

I think this clearly qualifies you for a GOLD, John. You beat your age standard by about 7 minutes and met that of a 40-year-old!! You're a bl**ding inspiration! Now put your hand in your pocket and buy it!!

Keep on rockin'

Cheers

I would be delighted to pay for it to get it, but it seems it doesn't work that way.
According to the "system" it has to be paid for BEFORE you achieve the standard.
That's what I think sucks.
You don't get to win much at my age so a 2008 medal would be something to treasure.
Sigh....................... :(

Sounds like an excellent idea, Jon. Well, now there appears to be a lot of interest in the medals can't we do this for last season or do we need a formal rule change???

With you all the way, John - Only pulling your leg. I wonder what the thinking behind the rule was?
