Provisional Racing License

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Provisional Racing License

Does anyone know whether you are allowed to race Cat 4 races with a provisional license - ie. what you get when you sign up for BC silver membership? I was hoping to do a race this weekend at Hillingdon (if I am not working). I think you can buy day licenses but that will work out expensive.

Cheers

Jon is right that you can do the races on a Silver Membership BUT you must include the racing licence, AND must have the licence with you at the race. If you have only just applied and the licence hasn't come through to you, then you may still have to pay for a day-licence. If you print off the application, this might get you in, otherwise wait for the actual license, sign it, attach a (sensible) photo and enjoy your racing.

Lucy is generally fairly accomodating at Hillingdon, just make sure you have your membership (license) number if you don't have the actual paper copy by then...

Thats interesting, can't see me having my licence through in time but really fancy heading off over on sat for a race. Might try my luck and see what happens.

Do licence numbers stay the same from year to year does anybody know?

Just ride away from the rest of them before the finish and you'll be fine. :D

To be safe, print the main screen that shows your membership details and take that along too...

See you there.

nah, its just training. but yes, i will probably score points just by virtue of being a 1st cat, as there are seperate points available for e/1s as well as 2/3s!

Haha, it'll take a bit more than a few gratuitous points at Hillingdon to get an Elite licence!
