Now to be done on Sunday 18th January, yes the day after the Annual dinner, so what better way to clear your hangover.

Check the original post at the top of this thread as I have edited it.

Boing. It's supposed to rain over Saturday night but hopefully the roads will be okay. I'll be at CSS at 9am on Sunday unless it's tipping it down and fully intend on doing the full route, I'll just have to modify it a bit or cut the odd hill out if the weather doesn't play ball. It'll still be a pretty tough route though even if one or two hills and up having to be omitted.

Ben, Mark B, and Kasper joined me for this today. Nice ride, good company, cheers chaps.
We missed out White Lane as the Gangers descent had been covered in loads of sticks and mulched up leaves and I knew White would be the same but more wheel slip inducing going up. Other than that the full route and all hills ticked off. The only problem of the day was when Ben got a puncture before Toys which set a new World record for the slowest repair due to it taking 20 minutes (honest I'm not kidding) just to get the tyre back on the rim. All of us had a go at various stages but it was horrendously tight, I've never seen such a tight fit you'd have thought the rim was 1cm bigger than the tyre.

Looks like I missed a good day out. I forgot to set my alarm and woke up at five to nine  and no Mr  it wasn't down to celebrating last night. :D

That'll be the evil that is the Fulcrum Racing 5 wheel, guessing the tyre was either a pro race 3 or a schwalbe ultremo, both a nightmare on those wheels, I'm so glad I ditched them for the ultegra sl's so never have that problem again.

It was a pro3race, he says the ultremo is even harder to get on  . Must be those 5s as I don't have the same problems with the pro3race I have on my 3s at the moment.

Actually I forgot to say Polhill was closed off so we had to go up Star Hill instead  .

If a proper tyre like a GP 4 Seasons was being used, the puncture probably wouldn't have even happened!

One of my team mates had a similar problem yesterday. Two levers were snapped in the process until someone pulled out a metal one! The next time he punctured, we called for the team car... 8)

It was a good ride & I enjoyed the route. I've had to bite the bullet and order some new tyres, as my thumbs are still aching, so I will see, if continental's are any better at fitting on the rims.

Café stop, was pretty good as well but without the alligator, the reptile place has lost it's magic. Anybody out next Sunday ? Know of any rides happening etc

FWIW I punctured on Saturday CR and got the Conti 4000S onto Easton rim with only light use of thumbs.
