Looking through the pics you're all mad :D . Insane conditions to race in.

Doesn't look too bad Sean, up towards the front while you were there and Ant and Serge looked to be up there for pretty much the whole race. Well done.

TBH Andrew is was no where near as bad as it looks, it was just a light powdery covering of snow, still had a reasonable amount of grip. The cold was the biggest problem, according to Serges car it was hovering around -3 when we started our race...bbbrrrrr

I was up at the front for 90% of the race, just to stay out of trouble really. Didn't have the best of days in the saddle, my legs felt drained and really struggled to get them to work in the sub zero temps, guess thats old age for you. Think I got 7th or there abouts. I did a bit too much work on the front in the last lap dragging the main bunch along to catch 2 riders that had made a break for it. (Should have listened to Adam more shouting at me to get off the front  ) I was mixing it for the sprint but alas the cold started to cramp my legs up and I had to ease while in a good 3rd place. Better to finish slightly lower than to finish Stu styleeee....it was way to cold to roll on the floor in agony. :D

Still, considering the conditions and the cold a top 10 placing is a good result in my 1st race proper for many months.

Serge had a good race, he was looking strong through out the race and was always up near the front. He just needs a bit more power for the mad dash sprint and he'll be up there again in the points.

Hats of to Sean for starting, he was ok for the first 3 or 4 laps, I didn't realise he'd pulled out so early though, can't say I blame him as the cold was geting to me towards the end.

Might head off over there again next weekend to make the most of the remaining few races. Here's hoping for more clement weather.

Cheers.

Flip-in-eck, well done all of you for showing up and racing. I didn't even go out on the Club Run. It was -8°C outside my front door at the time I needed to leave for CSS.

Thanks for all the kind words lads. Once we were off it wasn't that bad, I had two base layters on, my rapha softshell, the ACC jacket and the gilet. I also had 2 pairs of glove liners and the Soprtful Lobsters.

I'm surprised you didn't over heat!
