I've heard worse names than that Wal

Beforehand I looked at last year's finish times for the same series in Sports and Super Masters (which I was racing in), and every time the time of the winner in Sports was about 2min faster than my own time in SM (especially when Michael Butler was riding in Sports), so I wasn't expecting an easy ride - guess it all depends on who turns up on the day. Real reason for riding in Sports as I wrote was to be able to race in the afternoon and travel with other Sports to the races. I didn't fancy an extra lap with the Experts (who race at the same time) but now I guess it will be the obvious choice, to be honest it didn't really feel like a proper win but maybe that's cos I was also feeling a bit sick, anyway it will be interesting to see how it goes in a 2h+ race.

I blame it all on my coach!

Sorry for giving you a hard time, Sylv. It's true that the winner of the Sport race is often faster than half the experts, and might be accused of burglary. That said, I totally understand your reluctance to do the extra lap. I did a Gorrick race in Super Masters at Yately Heath in '07 and found it exceedingly tough - I was nearly in tears at the finish. And that was in good conditions.

Sylv,
Just to clarify.

I used to work with Peter and it was me who told him to join the mighty Addiscombe after doing a few MTB runs - kill loop, SDW, blah blah.
He's been out a few times on the clubrun and was in the training group last Saturday so I should imagine he's in good form. I think he's still waiting for a jersey so he probably wasn't in club kit when he raced in the experts.
