the tours highest point, and probably the hardest day is to the top of the galibier....i was there only a month ago, not quite as fast up, but without a doubt faster down..how cool is that!!! anyone else experienced the galibier? if not, as cyclists you should, only slightly higher than boxhill, but the view is amazing!!!

Not to toot my own horn, but how about all the Americans? LA, Hincapie, Leipheimer, Landis, Julich and Zabriskie all in the top 15. And the maillot jaune could be in USA hands from start to finish.

Enough to make a traditionalist squirm - and here's one vote for Chris Horner to go for a stage, too.

I'm still hoping to see some vintage Vino in the mountains. Love the Kazakh champion's jersey.

I liked McEwan's demonstration of the true purpose of cycling helmets...

... headbutting your opponents out of the way in a sprint.

Zzzzzzzzzzz..............................

From Cyclingnews.com's live coverage.....

14:53 CEST 125km/103km to go
Armstrong has a slightly bored look on his face as he follows Hincapie and the rest of his teammates at the front of the peloton.

He's not the only one! Roll on the Vuelta.
