When I looked at Metcheck Saturday looked okay, just chilly and a bit windy. Wrap up and it should be alright. I'm going to do an alternate CR route to use more main roads, but not very busy - post and route to go up shortly.

Sunday however it's saying sub zero all through the night and if we're lucky it might crawl up to 1 degree around midday, but feeling no warmer than -5 to -8. I'm not doing the Hell of Ashdown in that as it's up and down steep/long hills and quiet lanes so some are bound to be dodgy, particularly as I have a start slot of 0835 so would be leaving home about 0730. Add in a few hundred riders of varying abilities and that'll be a no from this corner, I'll go out and hoon about in the woods on my MTB for a couple of hours instead :P .

I like the cold too :D

But you obviously haven't heard the old saying of:

'the wind in the east be neither good for man nor beast'.

I have to say that when the wind is in the east in Hackbridge we get the aroma of either the landfill site or the smell of the stagnant pond in a little wildlife area they've created (all I know is, twitchers turn up regularly there  )
