Welcome back to the forum first tho- hopefully people will soon get back to posting- welcome to new boy Sean as well, i expect you have thought of this already but if you could include it in next weeks digest-people will know its up and running.
Nice long ride out to brighton yesterday with about 16 other riders, skies were a bit ominous at first so that probably kept the numbers down a bit- my breakfast and me thought the pace a little brisk at first and after speaking to monty his breakfast was rumbling as well.
Paul found some really good quiet lanes to go down and up (esp round by ardingley reservoir)- i must admit that half the time i did not know where the hell we were-going thru wivelsfield then pl(tr)umpton, but i knew where i was at the bottom of ditchling! Still i have a lot more miles in me legs and for a fat knacker like me it was not so bad at all- esp after pico veleta and the surrey hills ride a few weeks back.
We managed to confuse al the staff at the beach cafe and we sort of got what some one else had ordered- but it was food and fairly cheap.
for some one who does not like hills Paul took us on what has been my hilliest ride back from brighton that i have ever done! again i did not have a clue where we were, and when we came to a junction- out came the map- yep you guessed it, the way home is always up.
90 odd miles for me yesterday- streched-washed and out the door in 45 mins and off to a Live 8 party home by 1 feeling rather good with a couple of cold drinks inside me.
BTW marek how much duty did you have to pay on your liver when you came thru customs
