Off the top of my head so could be lying but another good "unique selling point" in my opinion could be to be shown round on the day at a predetermined speed by an ACC rider - if they dont want to be then they dont have to be done so but could be an option on entry form?

For some of the sportive/reliabilities I would quite like this as you know you wont get lost and will make it round in 'x' time (provided you can keep up !!)

Just need half a dozen ACC riders to commit to riding the route at a predetermined ace

On Andy G's rolling mechanical assistance feature .....

Maybe one way to get a good service in this regard for free could be to approach a local shop such as GB's and offer them a stall/stand at the start / finish selling things like tubes etc and inlcude the name on the advertising/entry forms - in return for them providing the service however.

Just an idea that popped in me head - you dont get what you dont ask for

Sounds like a great idea to me, I'm up for helping out in whatever way I can. I have no particularly relevant skills but am pretty ok at organising and doing donkey work and can represent the slower end of the pack! Weekends are always hard for me to be about 'cos of the commute up North but with enough notice can fit around things. And currently have lots of free time during the working week :D

As long as it avoids my June holiday, I sure I could help somehow, probably along with my wife Jean.

Thanks for the offers of support y'all. First thing to do methinks is arrange a call to discuss in a bit more detail and agree some next steps. I have a conference call facility (oh lah de dah) so I'll email those who have been in touch and we'll agree an evenig to set something up.

Cheers - roll on 2010 and the ACC Sportive Thingie  8)
