Pilates

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

Cheers for letting me join the session yesterday :)

It was very relaxing and highly recommended

As an occasional attendee of other pilates classes I particularly enjoyed being among a like-minded group with similarly deficient flexibility levels - rather than being the only person who has to sit on a tower of 5 blocks during some of exercises

Apologies, Will, for throwing the block at you - lousy throw when I was trying to hit whoever it was now

My coccyx or the area of, ached after the last session. I think it was those exercises that 'massaged' the area. I used to ache in that area after being knocked off my bike by a motorcyclist and landed on my butt but only after I'd been sitting on a hard surface for a long time - ie exams. Any thoughts, Adam?

Hi Amy,

Just seen your post. Sorry for belated reply.
It suspect and if I remember right you have quite a flexible lumbar spine curve. Which means when you curl like a ball you actually have quite a flat curve, which may result in you having to use a little too much momentum to roll back up consequently hitting sacral/coccyx area with a bit of a slap.
Wow that sounds much more complicated on 'paper' than it really is.
Remind me too give you special attention next session.

Happy New Year everyone!

I didn't think it was the rolling up but those 'massages' for the coccyx area. I can't remember that clearly now

Hi guys,

I'm a little concerned about what the temperature will be like in the hall tomorrow night. It was quite cold before Christmas but is likely to be much worse with the current cold snap.
As what we do is not that aerobic I would suggest more than one layer of clothing tomorrow.

Best,

Adam

Well, after standing in the kitchen and heckling last week, I decided to take up space on one of the vacant mats last night.

I nervously took up my position between Mr Stiffy Green and Mrs Giggley Heritage, and adjacent to Mr Clicky Locke. The next hour was spent mainly rolling around the floor in a variety of positions and I was pleasantly surprised at how bendy I turned out to be, and I must say I really enjoyed it.

Thanks to Snoop for organising and to Adam for his instruction.
