As a footnote I went again this year and flew to Bologna and then got an internal Italian train from there. Far easier and cheaper than using the train in the UK to get to Stanstead (to fly to a nearer airport in Italy). I bought the ticket when I got there to save on the commission charge from the UK agent, the best option if you have time and don’t need to pre-book and link up trains. You can still use the sites in the above link to view the timetables before you leave home.

Being a member will also give you 3rd party insurance which is needed to take part in Club Runs and other ACC cycling activities.
