Saturday CR - MTB Special inc reports

Are any of the usual (or unusual ) suspects interested in a MTB CR on Saturday? I know it's a few days away but I can't imagine the lanes are going to clear up that much, combined with the Old Ports Reliability on Sunday likely to be a no go I think I wouldn't mind a bit of an all day / long MTB ride to get a decent ride in.

Trouble for me is that I don't really know any of the tracks and trails so would prefer it if someone who knew where they were going was interested. If not then I might just just trail up through the woods and head out towards the country and see what I find.

Anyone interested?

Obviously if it chucks it down with rain non stop between now and then and melts/washes all the snow away then this is all completely hatstand.

I'm afraid I won't be in London this weekend. I will be around the weekend after though but it might clash with the CTC hilly 50 from Box Hill.

I'd be up for a mountainbike ride on Saturday, but I need to be home around lunch time.

I have a mid-length route in mind. Where would you like to meet? CSS or ECBR?

I would be up for a mountain bike ride as well. Us city folks in Whitechapel don't have a feel for what the lanes are like.

At what point do we know if we're on or not, as I'd have to get a train from London Bridge early on Saturday morning.

If you don't mind Grahame it'd be good to go with someone who knows were he's going. CSS or ECBR - whichever is easier for you and your route, I'm easy.

OK, 9am at East Croydon British Rail (ECBR) station it is.

Route will be out over Lloyd Park to Croham Hurst, then Selsdon, Farleigh, Fickleshole (oo-err), Higham's Hill, Keston Court, Keston, Hayes Common, then home.

This is all "Weather permitting" if we are under 18 feet of snow, I may cut it short.

Hi - roughly how long would that take in average conditions?

Hard to say, really. A fast group would be round in about an hour and a half or so. A slower group, about 3 hours. WE can add or subtract bits to make it longer or shorter, and we're never that far out of town if somebody needs to get back.

There's nothing extremely technical on this route (I've ridden it all on my cross bike).
