Inter Club Evening 10 - Bletchingley Circuit

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Of all the courses to do a first time-trial, I pick this one! I hear it's not exactly flat!

Any advice for this course, or time trialling in general?

...except the final hill to the finish, which you should ride up at your absolute maximum effort so you're just about ready to keel over at the finish line.

Cheers guys. The good thing is it'll be a PB for me even if I end up pushing the bike over the line!

Just been round the course tonight.

Its gonna feel like a long 10 miles!

Who's bright idea was this course?

Scenary? Give me a stretch of the A1 with lorries thundering past anyday.

Its gonna be fun, we're all in the same boat. Just wondering whether to take my tri bars off to save a bit of weight on the hills.

I'd leave the tri-bars on - there's all that fast downhill and flat stuff on the way out where you'll save more time by being aero than you'll lose carrying a bit of extra weight up the hills.

I use this piece of road as a quick(!?) spin around when i'm waiting for me dinner to cook as it is just down the road from me, coopers hill road is a lovely fast descent without braking- perhaps only on one corner that always seems to pull you over to the other side of the road.
Flat out under the motorway and down the next hill- it always seems to drag a bit up to the dog and duck then a nice gentle downhill to the end of the road. I really hate the short hill it must be about 10%, then some lovely fast winding roads which are all in good nick, another small lump then down again really pretty countryside- you wont notice tho coz you wil be feeling sick!- then a gentle rise up into bletchingley- all done luvvly.
Am I racing? You can bet your @rse i'm not! Gonna watch and cheer the addiscombe guys and gals on.

Well done Kwai and all other finishers.
Great TT conditions, no wind and a nice warm evening.
Addiscombe CC managed a fine win over Norwood.
Many thanks to Dave, Tim and everybody else who made this happen.
Jim
P.S Can we get back to nice easy courses with downhill finishes?

Cheers Jim. I agree, perfect conditions. Can't say the same for the course though! What a horrible finish. I almost came to a standstill on a couple of the climbs!
