Same route next week?

What I want to know is why you and Tim didn't stop when I shouted out. As it was, it was a fortunate error, as it brought us right to that cafe - we'd've missed it otherwise  Nice for the SouthWestern Road Club to have prebooked it for us :D Not sure I'd go for the minestrone soup again - bit on the thin side and a tad heavy on the celery...

Glad you enjoyed it - I know Dave doesn't get on the forum much but Tim seems conspicuous by his absence.... especially as he seemed to be going so strongly :D

Actually doesn't look like we'll be going anywhere on Saturday, except more sledging...

Just seen the weather and it looks like there is more snow on the way.
So lets see what Saturday brings in the way of an Ice Rink.

I am still about but been snowed under (obvious pun) with store closures most of the week....at work it's a bit like digging your own hole if you know what I mean  but I'll leave that to Mark's thread on the 'due to....' - looks like I'll be def joining as a founder member by the middle of the month.

Great ride last week and would be up for another this week but....

....as Mark said 'The Weather'....let's see what Saturday morning brings, Metcheck seems to suggest cold but dry. Mind you I'm guessing it'd still be best to stick to main roads? Plus, I was going to do the Old Ports (Rob's also up for it) on Sunday so a quick steady leg turner (as no commuting this week) would be good. Mindyou not sure if the Old Ports will happen, latest update below:

Bulletin 1 Friday 6th Feb 17:00hrs
'As of Friday(6th) afternoon the course for the OPCC Reliabilty ride was clear and we will be aiming to run our event on Sunday. However further bad weather is being predicted, in particular a sharp drop in temperature on Saturday night Sunday morning. Therefore the event could be subject to late cancellation.' We will post another bulletin on Saturday(7th)

Right off to clean the bike, eat and chill (literally!)

I am planning to have another lie-in tomorrow  Several weeks ago I thought I'd better use my last four days of leave from 2008 and booked a long weekend :D

If the weather improves I might go out Tuesday for some sort of ride - anyone likely to be around for that?

Obviously the Tuesday ride never happened - due to adverse weather conditions - so:

any one want to join me on a ride, probably to Cranleigh and back, next Sunday (22nd Feb)? Can't do Sat as I'd better let my mum come over for tea with me in Sutton :D

[quote="Sean Hogan - 何祥"]What sort of distance are we talking about here Amy? I'm pushed for time tomorrow, but with a meal with friends cancelled on Sunday I might well be able to join you. Assuming that I can (...yes I know I'm not good on this) where and when on Sunday?

Ta.

I'll hazard a guess before Amy answers at.. Sunday 09.00 @ CSS, distance 65-80 miles, location somewhere in Surrey following a route of quality pubs and cafes

Pretty close :D but I was going to say 9.30 at CSS. I've already said my intended destination - Cranleigh!! Will go out roughly along the club run route but with a few different lanes - I fancy dropping down Reigate Hill :D - and then turn off at Newdigate to swing down south before turning back up to Cranleigh. Could go to a pub in Cranleigh - but I haven't been to any recently so can't say what they're like now - otherwise there's a Notcutts garden centre just outside Cranleigh with a cafe - OK?

Up for long one but can't make this Sunday as floor laying in the nursery is required (it's the nesting thing don't you know). Will be out on Sat for CR, so have a great ride on Sunday and see you the week after (if I don't get the opportunity finally for the first sportive!).

Hi Amy and the rest..

just to let you know, a really lovely girl called Claire turned up today and was keen to join you tomorrow. although she went with the 15's today (as it was her first time) she rode to box hill with us and could more than hold her own with the 17's next week.

keep a look out for her before you head off. I cant imagine that there will be that many girls on bike at CSS at 9.15 tomorrow morning, so i shart leave a description. :)

Chloe

Claire - if you managed to find the forum and are reading this. sorry to talk about you, i just wanted to give Amy the heads up.. Great to meet you today and have a good ride.

Not a problem, Chloe - Claire, you're more than welcome to come along, as I'm finding it very hard to drag this lot out of their comfort zone into different lanes :?

So definites for tomorrow
