When I was little, I have this abiding memory of my Mum going in the medicine cabinet and producing some cotton wool and a dark brown "Gin" type bottle - no matter what had happened - arnica it was - in liquid form. No matter what - and on open wounds, it sure made me scream

I have to say though, that bruises disappeared really quickly.

First "proper" crash of the winter last night (off-roading mini crashes don't count).
Was about 1/4 mile from home, went into a corner that I've been round hundreds of times before, and the front wheel just slid away unexpectedly. Hit the deck and slid along the road a bit; trashed a pair of longs, minor scrapes on knee, road rash on thigh, and a little finger that's swollen and doesn't bend properly at the moment. :(

bad luck Jon, I came off just after the snow on my usual route whilst turning at a junction, trashed my bib tights and cut my knee and brusied my big toe. Almost completely healed by now and had a good excuse to buy new bib tights (the others were getting a bit worn after al least 5 winters.).

You can't afford to crash in Rapha - that's the beauty of it!

It was cheap but not entirely free. But I guess, being run into is ok, as long as the driver acknowledges their error and pays for the costs ...

Aha, that explains why Rapha's so expensive - it's the special anti-crash forcefield woven into the fabric - kind of like Harry Potter's invisibility cloak.
