Friday 13th was the due day.

It came and went with me calling them all day trying to find out any information. Delays after delays saying they would send out letters on the evening of the 13th, this then changed to we would find out more on Monday.

This then changed again to me finding a 'Due to adverse trading conditions and a global recession, the company has decided to reduce the number or people employed bla bla bla bla cow smell bla bla bla.......' letter on my doormat this morning, with all the other sh1t of my shoes.

So decided to to take the other half out with me on the CR (her first club run).

Lunch in the Vineyard at the bottom of Box Hill.. Then ....

We managed to catch you all up at the bottom of the Hill just turning into the Zig Zag and even managed to overtake most of you up the hill. Think in just under 3 minutes, Stats are as follows :- Av HR - 75, Av power 145BHP, Av speed - wow, Av Cadence - 0, 35mpg, aircon - on, radio - on, shouting encouregment to all in the ACC, done. It is a nice sight to see all the riders flying up and down various roads.

Had a little chat with lots of friendly faces at the top cafe, I then set off home but along the top road the car suddenly viered off the road out of control and before I knew what was happening I was in the Dauphin car park. Oh well, might as well go in and have a look while I'm here! Had a nice chinwag with Dave Fleming who wants me to go in with both of my bikes for few turbo sessions to get the set up right. The other half offered to pay for this.(Hmmmmmm bike number 4? :? )

Continued homeward bound enjoying the sights of the ACC in full flow. Well done to you all.

To sum up........

F**k the 'due to' letter and smile. :D

Got something to wipe the sh1t off with now though, sadly.

Good morning folks :)

How about a nice long (ish) Tuesday 17th morning ride anybod?

Don't care where, get some nice lanes in and the weather is looking fantastic (well, better!), might even finish the ride with a fine pint of beer and pub snack to hoot.

John the Old'n, are you doing a Tue morning ride with Grahame? if so please let me know.

[quote="Btn Jane"]All fingers are crossed for you Marky Mark, let us know the outcome!

Whatever it is I bet you'll make the best of it.
:)

Cheers Jane, but the bad news is that I may not be able to do to many Tuesday morning rides now due to the fact that I was made redundant yesterday (thur) morning and they went through the formal interview process of telling me what I would be entitled to and all the bla bla that goes with it, then had the front to offer me another job. So thank you to everybody who wished me luck, the combined ACC wishes came true for me, looks like Marky Mark lives to fight another day by the skin of his teeth.

That is fantastic news Marky Mark. Really pleased for you. Hopefully the end of a stressful time!

To be boring for a minute, but I reckon it's important.... If they have made your old role redundant and are offering you a different one, they legally have to give you a 'trial period' in the new role which you should get in writing from them. This means that if the job turns out to be a pile of s**t you can still take your redundancy money rather than having to leave with nothing. Worth having ... just in case!

If you want to chat further PM me.

Cheers Jane, I honestly didn't know that about the trial period and I don't think my company would ever of told me or offered it to me, I want that am I'm going to ask sometime today if I can.

Do you have that in writing anywhere in official bla bla that I quote to them If I need to put it in writing?

I hope the job is ok, but I think there will be some parts of the job I'm not comfortable with. BUT... it is a job and I should be grateful shouldn't I? Yes I should. So I don't want to rock the boat too much.

Many thanks, Marky Mark

Hi Jane, would be interested in understanding that a bit more. I'm going through a similar process with job roles been redefined etc. Is it ok to PM you?
