Lovely day for wearing shorts for the first time this year.... Brrrrrrr not
.
Sean we did wait for you like Amy said and I remember looking at the station clock at 9.40 then more time to put the gloves back on, have a drink and then set off. You must of been SO close to us, surprised you didn't see us in the distance
.
Amy that was great route taking in some quality variation and new scenery. Honestly more people should try your pub runs, We could tell the pubs you like because we passed them twice! Your navigation skills are out of this world only missing the odd turn by a couple of yards but all in all well thought out.
I think Serge (monkey boy) was setting a bit of a pace that would of killed me if sustained for the whole ride, but he was only doing a short ride so blame him for wanting to go that little bit faster, Serge left us at the CR - Box Hill Junction (20 miles into the ride), then there were 3, I think Sean was less than a mile from us by then, so close and yet so far.
Claire
: Well what can I say about our newbie Claire, I found out it was her first CR on Saturday and after recommendations from John the old'n, Grahame(magnum P.I.) and Chloe she decided that a Sunday run the day after her first club run would be just what the 'nurse' ordered, there is no stopping this girl, she has guts, strength, stamina, a great new member in the making. Claire had told Amy and myself that she had tried the odd ride with other clubs but NONE of them had been as welcoming and friendly as the Addiscombe were. I think there is very strong rider in the making and the ladies in the club racing circuit should snap her up ASAP.
Glad I could act as a wind break to keep the ride flowing, Amy is not firing on all cylinders at the moment yet but she is doing really well getting her fitness back. PS it was my left knee that was aching, I will look into releasing the pressure on that cleat, cheers for the advice.
Some stats from the ride :-
Distance : 74 miles
Ride time : 4h 45m (not including the stop)
Av Speed : 14.8 mph
Max speed : 48 mph

Now we know where all the pubs are, bring on the summer for a ploughman's and a pint in the beer garden.
Thanks for the ride, I had a lovely day and look forward to some more long ones.
