I'd just finished a 50 in Nottingham last weekend and was tottering into the HQ when an elderly gent stopped me. He wasn't local, but was passing through, had seen the cyclists and wondered what the event was. We chatted for a few minutes, admiring some of the machines leant up against the wall, and I mentioned I was not local either and usually raced nearer Croydon. He glanced at the ACC kit then got really agitated. I was getting worried for his health until he finally spluttered "Mills and Paul!!!". I grinned.

So this is just to let you know that Addiscombe past glories still stir the hearts of cycling fans up and down the country.
