I'm thinking about buying a second hand MTB .....I've seen a Giant XTC full susp.....anyone know anything about them

Its 250 sovs , seems good value

OK, decent value for money (if it's the right size for you), a bit "beige" ie there are better suspension systems out there, but it shouldn't be offensive to ride - just a bit bland.

What kit does it have? Ie which forks, groupset, stc?

maybe just go for a hardtail as you only really need full sus if your doing silly downhill sections, which can be done on a hardtail anyway.

Have you considered the fully rigid route? Some excellent Treks, specialized and Marins around from the mid-90s. 24 speed, V-bralkes, no bouncers to go wrong. Just get out the saddle and flex your arms on the rough bits. Pure simple fun

Are you sure the XTC is full suss? any XTCs I've seen have been hardtails, NRS is Giants old full suss system or Maestro the new system.

Ive been thinking about the giant xtc as well, from my research and playing with them they are noticeably heavier than other brand bikes in the same price range but giant brand hydraulics are actually really very good.
I think the 2008 cannondales are worth a look too, they all come with lovely flush welded frames and good forks.

I was really only looking to upgrade to discs , but when I spotted the GT for 250...and it was full sus it seemed a good deal.

Anyway looks like its gone as I cant find it now.

honestly avoid full suspension bikes at that price, you get so much more for your money, 1st or second hand, with a hardtail.

New plan , I'm going to upgrade my P7 to discs, get some lightweight but bombproof wheels and away we go.

If you are looking to flog the old wheels let me know, I building up an old marin single speed but only have an odd set of wheels, (and no handlebars and stem )
