Sunday ride 15 March?

Postby Amy » Sun Mar 08, 2009 3:14 pm

Can't make the club run next week due to familial duties (shopping with Mum :roll: ) so does anyone fancy a ride next Sunday out for 11's and back somewhere?

I will try to think of where to go and post it later 8)

SCCU 21 in Bletchingley (first rider off at 9am) which may decide a direction depending on whether you want to avoid TT racers or shout at Addiscombe riders.

Well, I was thinking of heading west to West Clandon to a garden centre in the grounds of Clandon House.

Any of my loyal groupette (seeing as how even when we're all together there's about 4 or 5 of us)? Any one else?

No designated speed to the group - just take it as it comes :wink:

Good on yer, Steph - may need to sort out best meeting place as I don't really want to ride up and over that hill between Wallington and Coulsdon but will look at the map and finalise route out.

Also for EVERYBODY who may come - it might be an idea to have shoes you can walk in reasonably as intend to use a CTC cut through over the A(more like M)3 to get to the lanes by Wisley.

Sorry, no pub this time. 11s in either the Garden Centre (check out the snakes in the animal bit opposite!) or Clandon House itself (think you can get in without paying).

I suppose any one who's coming will want to meet at the usual CSS? Otherwise I was thinking

a) Hackbridge station (but I don't think there's any trains on Sundays due to Thameslink work);

b) Carlshalton Ponds (between Carshalton station and village) or;

c) Sutton station (or rather Mulgrave Road which is opposite).

Can't I do a voting thingy whatsit if I'm only replying??

Sutton station is the best meeting point for me Amy :)

Ok, Sutton station it is. Come out of the station, cross over the pedestrian crossing and go slightly left and you're in Mulgrave Road.

I was thinking about 9.30. Let me know how that fits in with your trains.

COME ON - ANYBODY ELSE??? 9.30 opposite Sutton station...

Easy ride - think of it as a recovery ride and a chance to discover some new lanes (and a new/different tea stop....)

Well, Steph and I had a lovely ride. My old CTC friend joined us so I didn't have to think about the route. Lovely weather and lovely lanes topped by a huge cheese scone with jam and tea at Clandon House Garden Centre.

Also visited the snakes in the pet shop along with the geckos and Chinese water dragons - all spectacular creatures!
