Friday 13th ride.

Postby Andrew G » Sun Mar 08, 2009 7:17 pm

For those who have a day off, and aren't too scared to get out from under the duvet, I'll be going for a ride over to Bletchingley and have a ride around the course of the SCCU 21 (and also being used for the Addiscombe promoted Surrey League race). I'll only do one lap and not the two I'll be doing on Sunday, the ride out there, and then afterwards I'll head ???? - I have no idea.

I can go at pretty much any pace as I'm not going to be charging round two days before the race, I just want to have a scout about and check the road surface etc which may be a factor on deciding what bike I race on, so anyone is welcome to join me.

Let me know if you're free as I'm pretty flexible on meeting place and time, although it'll be a morning ride.

Ta,

Andrew.

Forgot to say good luck with the op as you were scooting off today, "good luck with the op".
If you are allowed out to play then no laughing at the hills I'm going to have to climb whilst you're keeping Snoop company at the top :) .

I'll do a weather check during the week and, if it looks OK, I might well be "working at home" on Friday.

The road surface is generally ok, it has been a bit affected by the bad weather, mainly after the downhill section just passed the bell pub, the final climb has always had a bad road surface

 for the last 20 years- so no change there then.

I went round there yesterday.

 I can't remember the race but I think the last time we were both down on the same start sheet he was a DNS so I'm claiming victory by default, bragging rights, and I'm quiting while it's 1-0  . Also...
[quote="Andrew G"]deciding what bike I race on

I'd pick something with a motor to race against Hutch

Weather looks good so will be nice to have a bit of sun on my back :D .

Howzabout 9.30 at CSS (avoid rush hour stuff on A23 that way).
Head to Merstham and cut through Church Rd is it? to come out opposite Coopers Hill, then we can join the course there.
Afterwards could head back down the hill and cut through the lanes (don't know the way but I'll have a shufty at a map) towards Westerham area as that would take yourself, myself, and Grahame if he can come out to play, in the right sort of direction.
World's our lobster from there depending on time, distance any of us want to ride, cake requirements, etc, etc.

Thats it, turn left about 100 yards passed the feathers, down the hill- steady mind as its a fast right turn, just under the railway bridge, then straight on all the way. Nice warm up going up
church hill- my favourite

See you there.
I suggest cake at Westerham or the reptile Zoo.
