Just wondering...

Postby MJ_1993 » Fri Mar 13, 2009 6:38 pm

i was reading the financial times as you do, because everyone is as square and nerd like, like me. And after a few articles questioning capitalism, i was beginning to think, has capitalism failed? now you dont have to be a communist to believe that, i was just thinking. what does everyone think?

It's a bit like asking if the French Revolution was a good idea. It's too soon to tell.

I think I've had a glass of wine too many - I read that as 'has cannibalism failed?' Which is an entirely different thing.

well capitalism does hold its main principle as private ownership. additionally it encourages you to maximise profit and wealth, and pushes and wants you to build monopolies. yet at the same time it gives monopolies as an example of market failure. personally, i think both capitalism and communism are two extremes. there should be a point in the middle which becomes an adequate, successful system. i think one based around social justice is the way to go.
