Part 4 of 6 of the DNTARYF Plan.
Bearing in mind this is a horrid course with 2 nasty hills, an unpleasant lump and a couple of drags I quite enjoyed today.
The sun was out and there was some warmth in the air which makes such a difference. With a straight through race block on my TT bike I decided to use the small ring more than I normally do on this course and it worked a treat and I didn't kill my legs as much as previously.
Rode both laps fairly evenly I think and only had one brief mind wander on lap 2 which didn't last too long, I just realised my legs weren't hurting a bit which meant I'd eased off a touch so snapped back in to it. It's the first time I've ridden this course on my TT bike and you can get some real speed on the downhill with some nice swooping bends
, although on one of them I went in a bit hot so had to stop pedaling halfway through to avoid going in to the other lane. There was nothing coming so it would've been perfectly safe but I thought it best to stay on my side of the road in case anyone was watching, don't want to give cyclists a bad name.
Finished pleased with 1:01:27 which was about 3m45s quicker than on my road bike in the monsoon this event was run in last year.
I thought that course would suit you but even so, stunning time Sylv
. Not sure about the skinsuit though
, is that legal?
[EDIT: Sylv the rule says you can not carry advertising or the name of a commercial business on race clothing except where the club/team you ride for has paid the advertising fee, but must not compete in clothing of a trade team that is/has been registered with the UCI unless they are a member of that team. Club events are okay though. Just a heads up as some organisers may be hot on it and not let you start. - I know you just like the black because it makes you look slim

Thanks as ever to all the marshals and various spectators, including Jim riding round the course in the opposite direction and shouting encouragement on the way. Big thank you to Stan for sweeping the turn bend too as it was lovely and clear, having been like a gravel quarry on Friday.
The AG World Series is now 3-0 in my favour as I just pipped the win today by 6 seconds. Don't tell him he's competing in it or he'll start beating me
