Amberley ride

Postby Amy » Thu Mar 19, 2009 2:39 pm

Thought I might ride down to Amberley sometime...

Not quite sure when but it'll be weather-dependent - either 28 or 29 March or Easter weekend.

There's quite a large cafe by the River Arun and Amberley station is just a few minutes away for those who need to get back by other means or just quicker. Also nearby is Amberley Chalkpits for those who would like to bring the wife (or occasionally male partner) and the kids out for an educational afternoon (not sure of opening times, you'll have to check if you're interested).

Let me know if peeps are interested and what day would suit best... the weather will have the final say :|

I can do Sundays, no probs but I might put it to the vote (that's if more people come forward...)

Oh I'm too tired to think straight...

I've given people two options - I thought it might be an idea to aim for the first weekend and see what the weather's like. So pick which day would suit best for both weekends. CANCELLED - see later post...

I may do another long ride on the second weekend if the Amberley ride goes ahead on the first ... well, something like that...

I have a cunning plan - s*d the vote.

I'll go to Amberley twice (weather permitting).

I'll go this Saturday but it will be slower (or rather stop/start) as I'll be map reading. And then do the ride again over Easter on the Sunday - although I have just thought of a problem - are cafes allowed to be open on Easter Sunday?

thoughts below please...

Hi Amy, unable to join you on this ride unfortunately. Just the normal club run for me, then off to Wembley to watch the footie Saturday evening.

I dunno, Rob, Marco comes up with a pub for lunch and you can't go...

Well, there you go, folks - additional attraction of a pub for lunch!

OK, the weather is not looking good for Saturday and I'd rather not do a long ride Sunday as we lose an hour's sleep and right now I'm in need of some time to tidy my flat - again.... too many nights out this week (I've joined the Coisir Luannain or the Greater London Gaelic Choir...)

Would those who were interested in the Amberley ride this weekend mind if I postpone till Easter or after? Er Ant?
