My second CR with the 19s this year. Struggled a bit on the drag through the trees and nearly turned off at Partridge but Sean and Ajay kept going and encouraged me to do the same. T&O was fun as ever, hammering towards a blind roundabout at 28mph gives a certain sharpness and clarity to the surroundings, and I clung on as best I could til about a mile or two from the cafe where I blew. Just managed to hang on to Sean's wheel so kept the average at a smidge above 19 even allowing for parking the bike.
Return was via BH. Lost the main group as usual and it was only on Zig Zag road that I was able to gain ground, picking off five of those who'd so mercilessly dropped me on the flats. Clumped around for a while at the top of BH until the cleats were full of mud then a gentle run back through Chipstead and home. 50 or 60 miles total at unknown average owing to rubbish Shimano flightdeck pos computer cutting out at random :(

Great to see you guys jumping up a group and getting stuck in. Its the easiest way to improve, just keep going and you'll soon be more comfortable with the pace.

Easy day for me in the 18's due to racing on sunday. Sprint was no contest as Lockey went to early, think it was Grahame who I then had to pass but didn't trouble me at all (I really need some competition guys, its getting boring winning week in week out :D )

A first for me as well, I beat everyone to the top of Boxhill.....well only really had to beat Hal as there were no other real fast guys in the group so I don't count this as an improvement on my climbing.

ooops....forgot to mention I sneaked into the 19's for the T&O as our group caught them at the DC.

It is all down to my GKWs , otherwise known as German Knee Warmers. Once the good weather comes along I'll be found out. Add to that the secret Sportique Warm up cream that seems to be adding a certain extra zing to my club rides. :D

He's been using Deep Heat instead of chamois cream.

It's in my car, so if you're helping out at the ACC race ask me and you'll have some reading to pass the time while standing at a junction :D

That was me. I would have had that sprint if you hadn't gate crashed the group. C'mon Antony, a cat3 racer should have left us non-racers all for dust, rather than just a couple of bike lengths  Adam can show you how to do it.

Your knackered even before we even leave CSS

So you knew you were knackered so went for a long one....wouldn't it have made more sense to go for a late one thus saving what energy you had for a good short burst.

What with your weights on your bike and then this...what are you doing Mark....it don't make sense.

(But oh how I'd love it if what your doing worked :D )
