Aodan and I have just got back to London and have only just read about this terrible news. I am really shocked to hear this.

The last time I saw Keith he was smiling away and full of beans as ever. I always loved the way he was young at heart and always active, always travelling to one exotic place or another. He certainly new how to maintain a perfect tan!

It is such a loss that he is no longer with us, and I am very sorry that I won't be able to share a joke with him anymore.

Joyce, please accept our condolences, and we hope you are ok.

Good bye Keith.

Maria and Aodan

Perhaps the most difficult thing to do is to express all my thanks to everyone who has phoned or visited me and now for the first time I HAVE COME ON THE WEB to read all the nice things you say about him.It makes me feel very humble. Thankyou all so ery much.I'm glad Peter was able to spend so much
time with him.,I used to spend many week-ends down at Horley and there was always the trips to the cafe in Charlwood on Saturdays followed by an enjoyable walk round the bridleways just off the main road. I shall miss him very much.

Oh no Joyce, I've not been on the forum for a bit and this has knocked me for 6.

I even stood for a minutes silence on the CR Saturday morning but couldn't hear Monty's speach because I was too far away from him or know why we were doing it.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you even if you just want me to be your cheaufeur for the day, I'd even put my best hat on for you.

I feel bad now because you were looking after others as you always do, making sure we are all ok in Pilates when the hospital were probably trying to contact you. You must of got the bombshell just as I dropped you off.

Sincere condolences to you and your family Joyce

Firstly, thanks for the e-mail peeps otherwise I'ld have missed this completely.

Keith was such a lovely chap and always was so knowledgeable and good fun too.
Joyce, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, the flowers were the very least I could do.

Note to all: any more flowers would require a vase as well, Joyce has run out!!
Yet again, big hugs and kisses from all of us. We all really love you Joyce if that helps at all.

Keep Well

Sincere condolences Joyce - it was such a shock when I got Tamar's text out of the blue.

Keith and I didn't always see eye to eye, but the last time I saw him and how I will remember him - he was cheering me on with a great grin on his face at the Dunsfold Cyclo Cross, then a hilarious debrief in the 'magic bus' on the way home. RIP.

Hope you're bearing up well.

Regards

Paul

Sad news,

The passing of a true agreeable, I spoke with him a few times when I turned up late at the cafe or bumped into him cycling along, a real gentle spirit. I'll miss his presence on the roads.

A sad loss, but what wonderful comments from everybody.
Keith obviously made a terrific impact on the large and diverse group of people who met him.

Like some other member posts on this thread, I only spoke to Keith a few times down at the cafe but enjoyed the conversations we did have.

Joyce I offer my sincere condolences. So sorry to hear this.

Joyce,

Sorry to hear the sad news. Been out of the loop for a while and just picked this up from one of the race reports. As mentioned by others, he always had a smile on his face at the cafe and never shied away from chatting with the younger members. May he rest in peace.

Keith gave me some words of 'encouragement' at the end of one of my first evening 10s. "You looked a mess", he said, "all over the bike, you were." He was right of course. His enthusiasm for the club and for the sport was infectious.

I don't really know what to say over and above what has already been said by many others who knew Keith better than I did. My post when he was in hospital summed-up my views well:

[quote]If everyone was as bright as cheery as Keith, the World would be a fantastic place....

I'm sure he will be fondly remembered by many of us for a long-time to come. I hope those closest to him will come to terms with their loss and will have especially happy memories of him.
