I brought along a couple of new guys today who saud they enjoyed it and will be back for more in the future.
I went with the 19's with my weights on

I don't quite agree. If I were moving up a group, particularly one with no max speed then I would want a larger group with more shelter particularly on a windy day like yesterday. 22/23mph with just two of you is quite impressive though given the conditions were far from ideal. Sprint sounds like it was fun too - think I may have just nicked it on the line
The 19's was quite a large group with around 14 or 15 by the time we set off and was quite a mixed group with some quicker guys and other who are moving up through the groups.
From what I remember the ride was largely uneventful. Don't know the name but the road between the little village and the rise through the woods where you can turn left to dot he short one I instigated a little T&O or fast rotations into the group. I really like it on this section as the road is reasonably smooth and with the right people yoou can really barrel along and try to maintain the ace through the woods. Today through this section Steve & Phil got a 20 metre gap on the bunch. I decided to bridge across to them so cam to the front of the bunch and raised the pace slightly hoping the group would tag along. They didnt and I TT'd a little across the gap. Once there I was cooked and Steve was tapping out a steady temp. Then Phil went round him and I am sure I heard the sonic boom - jeez that guy is going quick!
T&O down the carriageway was OK - someone needs to fill in some of those large potholes through the slightly wooded section.
Coming into the sprint I had decided that an early on was required as I dont think that I have the explosiveness of Steve B or Phil. Coming in to the final run I had noticed Steve sticking to my wheel and I was around third behind PoP and Phil. On the final right hander bend I started to come round Philbut there was a car so I eased back behind him. Damn now they all know
I thought.
Anyway decided to go again and both Steve & Phil were on my wheel. Into the wind I though anysecond they were gonna come round and storm past me. I could sense the swarm of bodies and bike behind me but none of them engulfed me and I held it to the line where I duly died. I haven't ever been succesful with a long run out before so am pleased to see that I can do it with some quick guys in the group.
The ride back was steadier at the start as I had to stay with the two guys had come with to show them the way. One was a bit quicker than the other who was really struggling in the wind. Thanks to Amy for agreeing to look after him and show him the way to regalinos.
This allowed me & on of them to try to latch onto the group. Unfortunately this meant that I had to do all the work. We never managed to get back on and it bloomin hard trying. We did managed to catch the regrouping at the church.
Mertsham was painful but we (Steve & Phil with a few hangers on) had a quick blast down the other side which was the most painful part of the day.
Thanks or the ride guys was good fun today.
